16th Annual MLFMGT Raises $25,000 for LMHF

Mount Forest, ON (September 2020) - When the Mary Lynne Forrest Memorial Golf Tournament (MLFMGT) was founded 16 years ago, George Forrest said it was to serve two purposes: to keep the memory of Mary Lynne alive, and to raise “a bit of money” for the local hospitals. Though the tournament itself was cancelled this year due to the ongoing pandemic, the MLFMGT committee decided to continue its fundraising efforts in support of local health care. This year, they were able to raise an incredible $25,000 for the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation (LMHF), and funds raised will go towards the purchase of a transport ventilator.

“The LMH Foundation is so appreciative of the ongoing support of the MLFMGT committee. Despite the challenges we are all currently facing, the kindness and generosity of our community is second to none. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to George Forrest, his family and the volunteers.” said LMHF development officer, Amy Van Huss.

This donation brings the 16-year total of funds raised by the tournament to more than $818,000 in support of the Louise Marshall and Palmerston & District Hospital Foundations.
