Healthcare Heroes Radiothon returns on Oct. 20

The 17th annual CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon returns to the airwaves of CKNX AM920 and cknx.ca on Saturday, Oct. 20 to raise funds for eight local hospital foundations.

Tune into the broadcast all day on AM920 and cknx.ca or catch hourly check-ins on 101.7 The One and 94.5 Classic Rock. Listeners will hear heartwarming patient stories and descriptions of the medical-equipment needs at each participating hospital. As well, they will be treated to one-of-a-kind musical performances, giving local talent an opportunity to show their support of our hospitals.

Mount Forest - Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation

The Mount Forest Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation aims to raise $100,000 towards 15 infusion pumps. At Royal Canadian Legion Branch 134 on King Street, the foundation is holding its first Radiothon Fun Progressive Euchre Tournament. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and the tournament starts at 12:45 p.m. Door prizes and a 50-50 draw will add to the fun. Advanced tickets are available at the Foundation office at Louise Marshall Hospital until Oct. 18 for $8 (which includes meal and tournament). Separate charges will apply at the door on Oct. 20.
